April 2007
Update 11/2/2007 - Color. Imagine that. I've finaly
decided to join the later half of the 20th century. Since
I moved to digital I've been experimenting with different
post processes. I hope you enjoy the results. These
photos were taken in the boiler room of my ca. 1910
building. The model is not really that tall, the door is
shorter than usual. At one point that room was used to
store coal (there's a sealed manhole cover on the ceiling
leading to the outside above) and then a tool shed for
maintenance. Now, it just looks creepy. This was shot
hand held with my new image stabilization lens using the
existing light from the two light bulbs of unknown age.
Shutter speeds were around 1/10 of a second at f4. The
model was great to work with and had a very unique beauty
and intensity - it figures she was moving out of town the
week after we did this shoot.
