Since it is not so easy for me to write about myself, I am greatly relieved to have this short article written by a freind:

Chris Graves is a photographer born and based in Denver, Colorado, USA. He took his first photos at the age of 11, using a camera he made out of a Quaker Oats box. During the intervening years he has moved away from the oats box. He has been published in several magazines and newspapers as a freelance photojournalist, has worked as a cinematographer on several commercials and feature films. In 1993 he won a Student Academy Award for his work on the animated short “American History” - These just to name a few of

his achievements. He currently works too much at the Internet company he founded in 1997.

The rest of the time he pursues the perfect cup of coffee as well as the perfect model. Holding a disinterest for the typical "Playboy" type girl, Chris prefers instead to photograph the girl next door - one who preferably has never modeled before. The best models are ones "who have no idea how interesting and beautiful they are. My favorite thing is to show a first-time model the final photos and they can't stop looking at them."

Having the luxury to pursue photography solely for art, Chris shoots only a handful of women a year. “Environment is essential.” Graves will spend weeks preparing for a shoot by finding the perfect space. Not one for the studio, he opts instead for the atmosphere of existing locations.

If you would like to model for Chris, buy a print, or you have an interesting location he could use, please contact him.
